West Indian Day Festivities Go Virtual

Virtual Road 2020

West Indian Day Festivities Go Virtual this year for Labor Day National Holiday in Brooklyn. New York City’s West Indian American Day Parade joins the ranks of the other major events turned upside-down by the coronavirus pandemic.

The sights and sounds of one of the world’s largest celebrations of Caribbean culture will be virtual. The annual parade has featured New York City’s version of the Carnival celebrations held throughout the Caribbean region.

On Monday Sept 7th 2020, the Crown Heights-based WIADCA (West Indian American Day Carnival Association) announced their yearly carnival parade would be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
