Open on Thanksgiving...

The Consumers Rule!

To stay in the race some major retailers are opening earlier this year.  Some on Black Friday and others have even gone so far as to open the day before Thanks Giving or on Thanks Giving day itself.   Early Christmas Shopping people! At the best prices. Yet, some say this is taking away the essence of the holiday.   What do you think?

MACY'S

Keeping up with its competitors, Macy’s said it will open for the first time on Thanksgiving.   Most of its 800 stores nationwide will open at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, after previously opening at midnight on Black Friday. The store will stay open through Black Friday until its usual close of business around 10 p.m.

JC Penny

J.C. Penney also announced last week that it will open most of its 1,100 stores on Thanksgiving Day at 8 p.m. to match its competitors like Macy’s.

Now J.C. Penney is following Macy’s lead, confirming it will open most of its 1,100 locations at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The chain did not say which stores would participate, but locations in the Syracuse area include Destiny USA and Shoppingtown Mall 

Best Buy

Best Buy has released its 23-page Black Friday 2013 ad! Doors will open at 6pm on Thanksgiving, much earlier than most competitors. 

KMART

Unlike last year when KMART closed for a few hours in the evening so workers could celebrate Thanksgiving, this year KMART will open at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and close at 11 p.m. on Black Friday.

Kohl’s

Just like its sister Wisconsin-based department store, Kohls – Caesars Bay in Brooklyn will open at 8 pm Thanksgiving Day and close midnight on Black Friday.

Target

Following last year opening its doors at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving.  Target may again open at 9:00 p.m this year.  However, they have not yet officially disclosed their opening hours to the public.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

The world’s largest retailer, began the early bird specials at 8 p.m., two hours earlier than in 2011

Toys R Us

Rumored to be open at 9 p.m on Thanksgiving Day.
