The Vessel

TKA

The structure’s name is temporary, as indicated by the TKA abbreviation, which means “Temporarily Known As”.

Vessel is a 16-story, 150-foot-tall structure of connected staircases between the buildings of Hudson Yards.

It has a honeycomb-like structure rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings for visitors to climb. Sounds a lot.

Comprised of 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs –

— almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings — — the vertical climb offers remarkable views of the city, the river and beyond.

The sculpture has received acclaim and criticism.

It is safe to visit. Top floors are bit edgy and raise unpleasant feelings. At time we went to visit even with limitations of 1000 visitors per volume deliver shaky experience of the structure on upper floors.

One thing is for sure, you have to reach the top of the structure to look down in the center.

It is breathtaking!
